The British Pattern 1907 hooked quillon bayonet, made by Sanderson Brothers & Newbould in December 1911, is an early production example that retains its original curved quillon—an identifying feature that was later ordered to be removed during the First World War. Designed for use with the Short Magazine Lee-Enfield rifle, it features a long, straight blade and solid steel construction typical of pre-war British manufacture. The bayonet carries the usual assortment of inspection stamps, maker’s marks, and date markings on the ricasso, reflecting its military acceptance and issue. Examples that have not had the quillon removed are increasingly scarce, as many were modified in service, making intact specimens particularly sought after by collectors.
