SASR Right Hand Recovery Vest

The DPCU Recovery Vest is a rare piece of Australian military equipment associated with specialist maritime operations. According to collector research, this vest was issued to Special Forces boarding teams—possibly Tactical Assault Group (TAG) elements—rather than standard Navy boarding parties or Clearance Diving Teams (CDT). It is most notably documented during the Tampa Affair in August 2001, where similar vests were reportedly worn by Australian boarding personnel involved in the operation. Manufactured in the distinctive Australian DPCU (Disruptive Pattern Camouflage Uniform) pattern, the vest was designed to carry recovery and mission-essential equipment during maritime boarding tasks.
